Two entrepreneurs from Wicklow have landed a deal to supply their ‘Nutritional Chocolate Bar’ as an in-flight snack on Ryanair.
The deal is a huge success story for Alison Stroh and her brother Aaron O’Donohue who launched their business in Greystones less than three years ago with an idea to develop a chocolate bar with certified health benefits that they could take to a worldwide market.
This is set to instantly transform Dr. Coy’s Health Foods into a European brand, building on the remarkable success that the siblings have already achieved in developing their company as one of the most vibrant and innovative nutritional food brands in Ireland.
Its award winning range of five healthy ‘Nutritional Chocolate Bars’ has already been listed in Selfridges in the UK, all leading Irish retail chains including SuperValu, Centra, Avoca, Brown Thomas, Lloyds Pharmacy and Applegreen
the bars are also the snack of choice during U2 tours.
‘This is a game-changing deal for our business. Ryanair expects to fly more than 130 million passengers this year with over 1800 flights a day. It puts our brand in front of a market that is nearly 30 times the population of Ireland and this will see a significant increase in sales. This also means increasing our operations with regard to production, logistics and marketing,’ said Alison Stroh.
The company has already been approached by potential investors. This deal raises the company’s international reach and offers an investment opportunity to capitalise on the expansion.
The bars were developed with renowned German oncologist and biologist Dr Johannes Coy. This reinvention of chocolate has lower effects on blood glucose levels compared to chocolate containing sugar.
